About Us

About Us

Our Story

At ACTion Psychology, we recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health.

Every person brings their own experiences, relationships, strengths, and challenges into therapy. Rather than forcing clients into a rigid therapeutic model, we think therapy should adapt to the individual.

Our therapists are encouraged to work from the approaches they feel most connected to and clinically aligned with, because no single modality is right for every person or situation. What matters most is building a therapeutic relationship that helps you feel safe enough to explore, grow, heal, and move forward.

At the core of our clinic is a shared commitment to compassion, curiosity, connection, and respect.

You will be met as a person by another person, who happens to have a finely tuned skill set in listening, responding, and collaborative intervention.

Our Approach

Trained across a range of therapeutic modalities

Our registered psychotherapists and psychologists are trained in a range of therapeutic approaches. Depending on your situation, they may draw from modalities such as:

1
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
2
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
3
Mindfulness-based practices
4
Emotion-focused approaches
5
Trauma-informed therapy
6
Somatic approaches
7
Other integrative therapeutic modalities

Our Values

Trust

Research consistently shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive therapy outcomes. Our therapists prioritize building trust and creating genuine, supportive connections built on openness and understanding.

Compassion

Compassion means responding to pain with kindness and non-judgment. Sometimes that means simply holding space. Other times, it means helping you do hard things because they’re important to you.

Collaboration

Therapy is not expert advice-giving; it’s a partnership. Our therapists work alongside you to help you better understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and learn new skills and perspectives to support lasting change.

Excellence

Our clinicians participate in ongoing education, supervision, and professional development to ensure ethical, high-quality care that reflects current best practices and respects the individuality of every client.
