Individual therapy icon

Individual Therapy

Life events often bring up complex emotions that can make it difficult to move forward. Individual therapy provides a space to explore your thoughts and experiences, develop new perspectives to help you get unstuck, and build skills that support lasting wellbeing.

Couples therapy icon

Couples Therapy

Work with a licensed couples’ therapist to discover how your patterns of interaction move you away from what matters most: each other. Couples therapy and marriage counselling help partners improve communication, break painful patterns, and reconnect.

Psychological assessments icon

Psychological Assessments

A psychological assessment with a Clinical Psychologist can help determine or clarify a diagnosis, provide insight into cognitive and emotional challenges, and guide effective treatment planning.

We provide psychological services for individuals navigating disability insurance claims, including support for mental health challenges that impact daily functioning or the ability to work.

Therapy approach background

Our Approach

ACTion Psychology was inspired by our collective belief that human connection is at the heart of effective therapy.

We recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. Our therapists use integrative, evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual so that treatment reflects your goals, experiences, and needs.

You will be met as a human by another human, who happens to have a finely tuned skill set in listening, responding, and collaborative intervention.

Meet Our Therapists

Our experienced team of registered psychotherapists and psychologists offers support virtually across Ontario and in person in Toronto.

Our clinicians are trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practices, and other integrative modalities.

Each therapist brings their own perspective and style, so you can find the right fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I start therapy?

At ACTion Psychology, we try to get you in as soon as possible with no waitlist. We offer free intake calls with our Client Care Coordinator to help you find a therapist.

Alternatively, if you are interested in working with someone in particular, each therapist offers free 15-minute consultation sessions to answer any questions you have about therapy. If you choose to continue, we will book you in within one week for your first session.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. We offer secure virtual therapy sessions across Ontario, as well as in-person sessions in Toronto.

Is therapy covered by insurance?

It depends. Many insurance companies cover psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). Please check with your insurance company to confirm.

Currently, ACTion Psychology does not bill insurance companies directly, which means that you are responsible for payment. You could be reimbursed by your insurance company after submitting your receipt with your claim.

Please note that psychotherapy may also be a medical expense for tax purposes.

Can I change therapists if the fit isn’t right?

Yes. Research shows that the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of successful outcomes in therapy. Finding the right fit matters. You can switch therapists at any time.

Are the sessions private and confidential?

Yes, all psychological services provided are private and confidential. It is the foundation on which we build trust and rapport. During your first meeting, you and your therapist will review the limits of confidentiality, and they will answer any questions you may have before beginning treatment.

What is a Registered Psychotherapist?

A Registered Psychotherapist is a regulated member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. This means they’ve met rigorous educational and training requirements, as well as specific professional standards. They are qualified to provide the highest quality of care. You can do a Registered Psychotherapist status check here.
